GST Update for Low Value Goods Entering Australia Effective July 1st, 2018

Currently, all goods imported from overseas valued at A$1,000 or less are exempt from GST. From July 1st, 2018, Australian GST at 10% will apply to sales of low value goods (LVG) imported by consumers into Australia. Threshold for Low Value Goods (LVG) entering Australia has been reduced to AUD 0 for all goods (excluding alcohol & tobacco products).

VAT charges will be Applied on all Aramex Services in Saudi Arabia

In accordance with the final VAT law and the related implementation regulations which have been issued in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Tal for Commerce and Contracts Ltd “Aramex” “Saudi Tal” will charge VAT at the applicable rate on all services provided by Aramex to your entity in Saudi Arabia, effective from 1 January 2018. VAT will be charged in addition to the agreed contractual prices and rates and will be paid to the General Authority of Zakat & Tax (GAZT) in compliance with the Saudi Arabia VAT law.

In accordance with the Federal Decree Law No. 8 of 2017 for value added tax issued on 23 August 2017, and subject to its final executive regulations, Aramex Emirates LLC (“Aramex”) will charge VAT at the applicable rate on all services provided by Aramex to your entity in UAE, effective from 1 January 2018, VAT will be charged in addition to the agreed contractual prices and rates and will be paid to the Federal Tax Authority in compliance with the UAE VAT legislation.
